WHERE HAVE THEY GONE?

The other day, I was talking with Markus, my WEC colleague, about a generation of evangelists who marked the 70s and 80s.

Markus mentioned the names of French and Belgian preachers such as Alain Choiquier, Gérard Peilhon, Fernand Legrand or those of the Janz Team whom he had heard preach during evangelistic campaigns.

The observation today is this: the evangelists (Ephesians 4 v 11) have practically disappeared from the evangelical landscape. Preachers of the Good News are so rare, like an endangered species. Very few have taken over from the likes of François Forschlé or Gilbert Ringenbach, men of God who gave their lives travelling across France to preach the Gospel.

Our nation, our churches, our youth events are in dire need of reconnecting with those who proclaim and sing the Plan of Salvation.
