Last Saturday, Miguel, Marc and I were enjoying a kebab at a nearby restaurant. We tried to answer the question: ” What is the best way to evangelize the French people?”.
The next day, I probably found a part of the answer.
Yukki and I drove to the small town of Bergheim, in the Alsace region.
The Catholic church that evening filled up quickly.
The priest said he had not seen so many people in his church!
We were there to hear the “Alsace Gospel Choir”, a group of dozens of Christian singers led by Don Grigg.
What a concert! During almost 2 hours, 350 people heard the Good News!
Every song was translated in French on a large screen. (If only every Gospel choir in France could do the same!)
I really believe that Don Grigg has ‘found a receipt’ that works: the concert was:
- held in a catholic church, a place where in France, people feel safe.
- approved by the Town Hall which once again reassures the French.
- Gospel music: a genre of music very much appreciated in France.
During the concert, the anointing of the Holy Spirit was so real. I cried a few times, because of the beauty of the songs but seeing many French people (mostly elderly) who heard a clear Gospel presentation.
Don Grigg probably answered the question Marc, Miguel and I were asking ourselves the day before…
