A friend we have known for a short time gave his life to Christ just two months ago. Before his conversion, the Bible was just another book to him, written by sinful men. “How can I put my trust in such a book?” he said.
As soon as he was born again, his view of the Bible changed completely. Since his mind was regenerated by the Spirit, he spends time every day in the Holy Scriptures. The Bible has come alive. He understands what God is saying to him.
Those who have not yet accepted Jesus as Savior may read the Bible as a beautiful book but without realizing that it is the very Word of God.
But for those of us who know God, reading the Bible is like reading a living letter.
Let us pray that when we share the Word of God, it will fall on good soil. Let us entrust to the Holy Spirit the seed that has been sown, so that it may bear fruit.
