“WE DON’T SELL BIBLES AT THE VATICAN!”

There’s no doubt about it, Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in the world!
Monuments on every corner, magnificent buildings and clean streets. The ideal place to celebrate a birthday!

On Monday, it was under a blue sky that we went to the Vatican. Splendid art galleries but also a lot of paganism (African masks, Egyptian statues and mommies…) and a lot of idolatry.
After lunch at the Vatican restaurant, I dropped off a letter and my two books which will be handed over to the Pope.

At one of the many stores (where all kinds of “Christian” trinkets are sold) I asked the saleswoman, “Do you have any bibles?”
“Oh no, no, no, there are no bibles here”,
the lady replied very surprised, “You might find some outside”. (You would think I had asked her if she sold drugs).
In a city-state considered by millions of Catholics as the very heart of their faith, the Word of God is not available.
Fortunately, in Rome, there are believers who have based their faith on the Holy Scriptures, as in the French Protestant Temple. As we pushed open the doors of the church, we were blessed to hear a small choir of brothers and sisters from Madagascar sing the Gospel.

May the Gospel of Grace shine with power over Rome!
