The Weekly Update – December 22, 2025
As we celebrate Jesus’ birthday, we want to pray for the multitudes of our brothers and sisters in Nigeria and around the world persecuted for their faith. Hate for the followers of Jesus knows no truce at Christmas.
Christian organisation Open Doors recently published:
“On Friday, October 31, Donald Trump announced that Nigeria would be reinstated on the list of “countries of particular concern” with regard to religious freedom. We wish to refocus attention on the tragedy unfolding in the northeast of the country , affecting millions of Christians, but also Muslims, if they do not submit to the demands of jihadist terrorists such as Boko Haram: 40,000 dead and more than 2 million displaced since 2009, according to United Nations estimates.”
