We have just spent 12 fantastic days of blessing at La Réunion, a French island not too far from South Africa. A second honeymoon.
When Nishal and Elisabeth, friends from Northern France, now based at Réunion, invited Yukki and I, we did not hesitate to come.
From their house, we can see on one side green mountains and far in the distance the Indian Ocean.
I saw again friends I had met when I visited twice the island and we met wonderful new friends.
Réunion is a pure gem with waterfalls, beaches, volcanic rocks and jungle.
The meetings at Nishal and his wife’s home on Sunday afternoons will never be forgotten. After a nice lunch in their garden with many brothers and sisters in Christ from various churches, it’s in their living room that we all crammed in for worship where the Holy Spirit took over. The presence of God was such that none, in the evening, wanted to leave.
In Réunion, Christianity has become very stiff, and many churches have created high walls between each other. Those Sunday afternoon gatherings are a real spiritual oasis.
Do pray for the unity of God’s people on this far distance island.
