The Weekly Update – February 17, 2025
My wife and I have just heard of Pastor Daniel Demeestère’s departure to his Heavenly Home.
For decades, this man of God travelled the length and breadth of France preaching the Gospel.
When my parents lived in Dunkirk, they had the joy of serving for 9 years alongside Daniel and his wife.
I remember this tireless evangelist as a distinguished man who knew how to proclaim the Word of God with clarity. With him, you weren’t afraid to invite an unbeliever to come and listen to him speak.
On the day of his conversion, at the age of 17, he cycled 100 kilometres to his first church meeting.
Daniel Demeestère is one of a long line of French evangelists, from Gérard Peilhon to Alain Choiquier and Marcellin Tanain, whom God has used to lead many to the Cross.
As Bible schools in France continue to train primarily for pastoral ministry, let’s pray that the Church would recognize and encourage those whom God calls to the ministry of evangelist.
