The Weekly Update – September 28, 2026
A few months before my dad went to be with the Lord, I spoke with him on the phone about Gannat in Central France, where he and my mom had opened the town’s first evangelical church back in the 1960s.
“Dad,” I said, “did you know that there are now three different evangelical churches in Gannat?”
“Glory to God!” he exclaimed down the line.
There are two ways to react when you learn that another church or a house group has just established itself in the same town where your church is :
1- By muttering, “ No way! Why has this new group come to set up their church on our territory?! Some of my flock might end up going with them!”
2- Or by saying : “Glory to God; His kingdom is growing! The more light there is in the city, the better! I can’t wait to get to know this new group of believers and see how, together, we can reach our community with the Gospel. ”
In the Kingdom of God, there are no competitors, only partners.
“…they caught such a large number of fish that their net began to break. They signalled to their companions in the other boat to come and help them. They came and filled both boats.” (Luke 5:6)
