The Weekly Update – September 7, 2026
A month before he departed to be with the Lord, my father joined my mother at the very first Gospel meeting they organized at their ‘Senior Apartment Residence’ in Wattrelos, Northern France.
My Dad was very frail, but at almost 89 years of age, he was determined to be there with the other residents who had gathered around the Word of God.
That first meeting for the residents would be my Dad’s last.
On August 3, the day before he passed away, he was in the hospital. I joined the elderly folks at the hall downstairs for their second meeting, followed by coffee and cake.
A couple from the church in Roubaix now lead this monthly fellowship. At their request, I shared the Gospel and gave those who wished to do so the opportunity to pray at the end of the message. Several of them turned their lives to Christ.
