ARE YOUR PRAYERS LIKE SCRIBBLES?

A 5-year-old child was lying in a hospital bed.

He had been hit by a car and was for several days in much pain.

His mother came to his room every day to comfort him.

But then the father fell ill too, and the mother, overwhelmed with worries and work, was no longer able to get to the hospital. The injured boy waited for her.

One day, he had an idea. He asked the nurse for a pencil and a sheet of paper. He scribbled lines that were going all over the place. He then asked the nurse if she could send the letter to his mom.

– “But my dear, this is not a letter, it’s a drawing that doesn’t mean anything!”

– “Oh, don’t worry madam, my mom will understand. She knows how much I need her to come; she’ll understand, and she’ll come.”

Do you think that your prayers sometimes are like scribbles that you think don’t seem to make sense?

Remember that God understands our prayers, even when our prayers are not well formulated ones.

As long as our prayers are drawn with the faith of a child.

“But you heard the sound of my pleading when I cried to You…” (Ps 31 v 22)
