TWO DAYS IN POITIERS

‘Two birds with one stone’ : one weekend and two conferences, both organised at the Martin Luther King Protestant church of Poitiers.

Saturday, the church opened its doors to ‘people living alone’ from the area. We spoke at the plenary meetings and at a workshop. Though there were less participants than last year, God spoke to hearts and we got very good feedback at the end of the day.

Sunday, back to MLK for the ‘Connect Day’, opened to all teen-agers from the various baptist churches in the region. Both sermons and the two workshops gave us the opportunity to challenge the young people to build their lives on Jesus, the only sure foundation.

We were hosted at the house of English missionaries Malcolm and Lynn Slater, who came to France in 1975. At the age of 80, they are still in love with Jesus. We left them encouraged by their example of faith and trust in God… to arrive just in time, late Sunday night , ( in Magny , just outside Paris) to wish my father (Yukki) a Happy 80th birthday!
