INTERESTING PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE

Last Tuesday, Yukki took the train to the Grand Palais (near the Champs – Élysées) to the Art Basel Paris, “an exhibition that seeks to build bridges with France’s cultural industries to create a flagship event radiating throughout the city, embedded in its exceptional cultural ecosystem.”

Among the many visitors to the event was the President of the Republic!

Yukki worked the whole week at ‘Cha Chaan Teng’, the Asian restaurant run onsite, by her uncle and aunt. (Singer Marc Lavoine stopped by to buy some snacks!)

As for Timothée, he headed north to meet up with his parents, who have just moved into a nice little apartment for senior citizens in Wattrelos, just a few minutes’ walk from Marc and Rachel’s home. He took the opportunity to visit the missionary couple Vandenhogen now in a retirement home in Tourcoing. John is known for his many songs that have blessed French speaking Christians for decades.

On the return journey on Friday, Timothée found himself sitting on the train next to orchestra conductor and trumpeter Michel Garzia (talking about God and music), before heading up to Strasbourg the following day for a conference given by Dr Denis Mukwege, Nobel Peace Prize winner and strong evangelical Christian.

On Sunday, at the Altkirch Mennonite Church, 4 believers entered the waters of baptism, with clear testimonies of conversions (the kind we’d like to hear more often!).

Yes, a great week for both of us!
