{"id":4530,"date":"2026-05-04T09:30:35","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T07:30:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/?p=4530"},"modified":"2026-05-04T09:30:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T07:30:38","slug":"personne-ne-ma-jamais-parle-comme-ca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/personne-ne-ma-jamais-parle-comme-ca\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cNo one has ever spoken to me like that\u2026\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <strong>The Weekly Update <\/strong>\u2013 May 4, 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While traveling through Burgundy last week, we stopped in the historic town of Ch\u00e2tillon-sur-Seine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We settled into a brasserie for a coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was only one other customer inside: an elderly woman, her eyes fixed on the television and her newspaper, which lay on her table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All it took was a smile for her to get up and come over to greet us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This woman, who is clearly poor, is so happy to be able to talk to someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI come here every day,\u201d<\/em> she says, <em>\u201cand I read my newspaper. \u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cAnd do you know, ma\u2019am, what we read every day?\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That was the opening to talk to her about the Bible and our faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI go to church every day and pray to Mary,\u201d<\/em> she tells us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We then give her a small Gospel of Luke and invite her to turn to Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holding the Word of God firmly in her hand, this elderly woman, moved, confesses : <em>\u201cYou know, no one has ever spoken to me the way you have.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few minutes later, standing in the middle of the brasserie, she repeated a prayer and gave her heart to the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cCould you please write down this prayer for me, so that I don\u2019t forget it? \u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus said, <em>\u201cI was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We believe that the \u201cHouse\u201d Jesus speaks of refers, for us today in France, to the Church (in the broadest sense).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These sheep are within the House (whether that House be Catholic or Protestant), and yet they are lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is for that lost soul in Ch\u00e2tillon-sur-Seine that Christ was sent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Timoth\u00e9e &amp; Yukki<\/strong>  <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> <strong>The Weekly Update <\/strong>\u2013 May 4, 2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":4531,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4530","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-non-classe"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4530","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4530"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4530\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4532,"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4530\/revisions\/4532"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4531"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4530"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=4530"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=4530"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
