{"id":4120,"date":"2025-04-14T11:19:54","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T09:19:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/?p=4120"},"modified":"2025-04-14T11:20:01","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T09:20:01","slug":"bien-avant-la-reforme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timotheepaton.com\/en\/bien-avant-la-reforme\/","title":{"rendered":"LONG BEFORE THE REFORMATION&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Weekly Update<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; April 14, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is in our church&#8217;s old lending library that I got my hands (After discovering where the key is!) on a gold mine: dozens of books that nobody seems to have touched for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I came across a nugget entitled:&nbsp;<em>&#8216;Il y avait des g\u00e9ants&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;by Mme B. Decorvet: The authentic account of the believers in the Piedmont valleys. Long before the Reformation, these men and women tenaciously defended the Bible. Hunted, humiliated and tortured by the soldiers of the Roman Church, they did not deny Salvation by Grace alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book reveals the exploits of those heroes of faith, starting with Pierre Valdo, a wealthy merchant from Lyon who discovered the truth of the Gospel as early as the 12th century.
